In this compelling continuation of Yorky’s journey, Richard Swindells returns to the Outback of NSW, Australia, seeking the love, connection, and fulfillment he once envied in others. But what he finds is a far cry from his romanticized dreams. Marriage, fatherhood, and the responsibilities of homeownership quickly reveal the harsh realities of life, especially when his partner’s struggles with addiction and mental illness become overwhelming. Despite his deep care and desire to help, Yorky learns the hard way when it’s time to step back and prioritize his own well-being. This story sheds light on the often-overlooked issue of female abuse toward men, offering a raw, real portrayal of the emotional toll it takes.

COMING SOON TO PAPERBACK AND EBOOK!

The old adage, “Be careful what your ask for…” certainly holds true in this further adventure of Yorky, aka Richard Swindells, now that he is back in the country that he came out of. In the Outback, as a shearer, he wanted love, a girlfriend, sex. Everything he saw what others around him had. Well, be got it, but it definitely wasn’t what he thought it would be. Out all of the adventures in the Outback of NSW Australia, nothing could compare with this one…Marriage and fatherhood! A home owner, mortgage payer, working like a slave. The words of his mother told him at an early age, “You must be responsible for your actions!”

A ‘roll in the hay’ (in this case, a bale of wool in a mill) leads him into a world he is not prepared for! Oh, she’s pretty, foreign, young…the downside is her addiction and mental illness. He really wants to help her. He really cares for her. He has to learn the hard way when enough is enough! After four years, he finally pulls the pin.

The story is real and shows the length a person will go to, to try and make someone happy, but also knowing when to stop giving and give back to themselves instead.

(In today’s society, much has been written about men abusing women. This is a story of the hidden female abuse of men which needs to be addressed.)
